Tanya & Tarek
This stunning wedding was full of love, happiness and dancing from the beginning!
The styling for Tanya & Tarek's wedding was a blend between classic and contemporary, creating a truly timeless vibe within the grand surroundings of the chosen venue, Somerley House.
Romantic, elegant and naturally styled florals featured, with seasonal blooms and delicate fresh foliage used in all arrangements.
The chosen colour palette was a mixture of dusty and raspberry pinks, toffee tones, a hint of peach and apricot, alongside red and burgundies. The couple loved the use of seasonal foliage, so tones of lush and sage greens in the foliage provided the perfect combination of greenery to create organic and natural designs. This was a perfect combination for an early September wedding, reflecting the change in seasons from Summer to Autumn.
Tanya & Tarek’s ceremony’s backdrop was filled with florals, from a large column arch naturally spilling down the down steps, to floor meadow arrangements lining the Bride’s walk from the House, and situated around the existing fountain.
Natural meadow arrangements lined Tanya's walkway from Somerley House to the steps where Tarek awaited her. Some meadows were also placed around the stunning existing fountain in the grounds of the house, which added to an even more stunning backdrop. All meadows were similar in colour palette and style, but differed in size, shape and ingredients to create a truly natural feel. This enabled the meadows to look as though they always existed along the walkway, perfectly guiding bride Tanya.
For the ceremony backdrop, a stunning column arch was situated on the top of the stone steps. The natural design was in keeping with the meadows, with an abundance of seasonal florals and foliage to create a unique and interesting shape. The arch also spilled down the stone steps, again to look as though it was naturally growing within its surroundings, rather than looking too placed.
The meadows were moved once the ceremony concluded, to be enjoyed throughout the drinks reception. The meadows were situated amongst lounge furniture on the lawn, and were used to perfectly frame the cake table.
The wedding breakfast took place in the stunning Picture Gallery. Round tables were each adorned with arrangements in white ceramic bowls. Each arrangement was slightly different to the next, keeping the natural element of the day, but all comprised of similar ingredients. Some tables featured larger low bowls, and others featured taller footed bowls.
All arrangements included a plethora of flowers and foliage with loose and natural designs, making a beautiful centre. The bowl arrangements were accompanied by tall taper candles in glass candle holders of differing heights, with soft tones that complimented the day's colour palette. Tea lights were also placed intermittently across the table in clear glass holders, adding more light as the evening drew in.
Tanya's bridal bouquet was delicate and petite, yet still curated with a natural design, perfectly complimenting the bride and her statement dress. Bride Tanya adored seasonal green foliage, and so this became focal for her bouquet, with use of English jasmine and frosted panicum grass to create height and shape. Florals were of course incorporated into the design to give the bouquet body, scent and colour. Elegant blousy roses, including o’hara, cafe latte and margaret merril, featured alongside wispy delicate cosmos which added more movement to the bouquet.
The bouquet was finished with luxury silk ribbon to entwine the stems, with the colour of raspberry to compliment the groom Tarek’s tie and pocket square. Tarek's boutonniere was a delicate design, as our boutonnieres always are. This ensures they are a beautiful symbol to tie the bride and groom together, without being over-bearing for the groom.
Tanya was not having bridesmaids in the traditional sense. Her closest friends did not have any formal duties in the weddings, but Tanya wanted a symbol from the flowers to show their importance to her. Each corsage was created with delicate florals in intricate designs, with pink satin ribbon to attach. Each bridesmaid wore a different shade of pink to compliment the colour palette, and once wearing the flowers, their look was complete!
